This is an Aamazing small property with fantastic staff and fabulous restaurant. Yes, it's about 15 minutes from downtown Oaxaca, but it is so worth it. All of the staff were super accommodating to our every need. The rooms were cozy and luxurious. The restaurant had amazing food. I can't say enough about this place. They hooked us up with the best tour guide/driver we could have asked for. Look no further, if you are staying in Oaxaca, this is the place for you!

Wow! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely fantastic. A quick 15 minute taxi to the city center, we loved the ability to return to our hotel to relax after a day of exploring. Cars and taxis were readily available so there were no issues getting around as needed. The staff was incredible and so friendly. The restaurant was delicious, and there was a great pool as well. 10/10 stars. I can’t wait for our next visit!
This place is incredible. Six stars! One of the most gorgeous small luxury hotels we have ever stayed in. Elegant architecture, stunning rooms, a nice small pool, an excellent restaurant, views over the city and the mountains, and the most friendly and personalized service imaginable. It really is a slice of heaven. Given its location, it might not be ideal for a base for Oaxaca sightseeing but for us it was perfect. We spent four nights in the city, and then came here for three nights of pure relaxation. Leaving early tomorrow and I can hardly bear the thought!
It's quite a great hotel if you want to relax and disconnect for a while. Great views of the valley and a very friendly service, the staff is always helpful. The rooms are quite nice everything according to the local crafts and decorations are quite good. The pool is a nice touch and good for relax after a long day. Just to consider that you are about 15-20 minutes drive from the city center and there is not much around the hotel other than houses. But you can definitely stay and get what you need without going out.
A fantastic stay in Oaxaca - a really beautiful hotel with views across the city. The staff were brilliant in making us feel welcome and making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast menu was delicious! It’s a little out of town, but we chose this for the quiet and it’s so easy to get a taxi. Highly recommend!
Santo Origen is a gem within Oaxaca, nestled in a quiet neighborhood tucked away from el Centro. Upon arrival, we were greeted with exceptional "at your call" service -- shout outs to Jorge at the restaurant & Diego at the front desk -- and felt like we were right at home. The hotel layout is simple --- pool, restaurant, fire pits, and 8 exquisite rooms -- but has everything you need for a retreat in the hills of Oaxaca. Diego or front desk staff easily arrange cabs to Xochimilco and El Centro, which are very reasonable, when you're ready to explore. When you're ready to relax, Santo Origen has exactly what you need. The on-site restaurant -- Entre Sombras -- has a great breakfast especially, and your view is a 360 view of Oaxaca City and the hills. Highly recommend ten times over & we will be back!
The hotel is very well-designed in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. It’s easy enough to get a cab downtown and hail one back. The restaurant was exceptional and beautiful views. Outstanding service at the front desk, especially in helping navigate options for sending some items home and ensuring we didn’t leave anything behind. They quickly swept the room as we left for the airport and let me know I’d forgotten clothes in the closet in time to head back and pick them up. A level of service I don’t take for granted!
